Dub Magazine's reknown DDAY automotive lifestyle shows
have been known for their luxurious and large Sport
Utility vehicle appeal. Over time their reign over
said world attracted loyal subject import contestants
to the point of splendid saturation. Today Dub has
spawned a new show in favor of the fervor of the
import. This show has been gallantly titled Empire
and fittingly so as Dub expands theirs. Set for
August 25, 2002 at the Irwindale Speedway, an
unfortunate mishap at the venue earlier in the week
was cause for concern and prompted Dub to pro-actively
move the show to a secure venue. That venue was the
renown National Orange Show in San Bernardino where
Dub previously hosted its massive DDAY show. Held in
the summer month of August in the Inland Empire, the
show was set for a sizzler with California August heat
and California Automotive zeal.
As a zealous sun began to make its way up the
California sky, the temperature went right up with it.
As morning rolled in, vehicles with rolled up windows
had their air conditioners cranking as early as 8 a.m.
With vehicle move in proceeding quickly and painless it was not long before the ground space began to look like an army of autos ready to fire.
Leaving only fire safety spaces between the rows of
imports and others, the car club masses showed up to
compete, show, and socialize. Among participants were
Nokturnal, Fatalism, Team Kurruption, Team Kaos Nine,
the DTM Autohaus vehicles, Team MPulse, Simply
Untouchable, Team Trigon, Unveiled, San Diego Stangs,
Team Ascension, Team Autobots, Untouchable, Swift,
Unfadeable Styles, California Cruisers, E-Legal
Imports, and Team Max. The Import took center stage
in this show, with Suvs, motorcycles, and luxury
vehicles as a supporting cast.
An amazing cast of talent performed prior to the
bikini show and the surprise live performance was by
no other than WC. Even a few members of the famous
pioneering 2 Live Crew were on hand to perform to a
capcity audience in one of the grounds' structures. A
massive wall of speaker cabinets adorned the front of
the stage on either side to pump out the bass and
sounds that pump up the guys and gals. Notable what really
got the crowd pumping was the bikini show that only
Dub could bring like WC tells you to "throw ya dubs
up". The winner of the bikini show was a late entrant
that appeared from the crowd after some of the hottest
bikini strutting gals did their exhibition. The late
entrant that at first glance would make one wonder
how could this gal compete with only her pedal pushers
and a white top surprised the pants off of everyone. What happened was a show of
technique, tacit teasing, appealing reveal, and
shaking what her mommy gave her as if she had been
struck by lightning. Her show electrified the crowd
winning the masses over. No whines came from the crowd
for this gal who came from the crowd and wowed them
all with out ever breaking any rules of indecent
exposure.
A decent turn out of 5,000 came out to expose
themselves at Empire. The venue nicely fit all the
people and vehicles and the day went with out any
snags. The vendors catered to the people's needs of
food, automotive modifications, and other fancies while one of the Dub booths had quite a buzz with the Dub
gals distributing free samples of Pepsi's new drink
called Pepsi Blue. Incidentally, it was quite tasty
and refreshing.
The show finished on a refreshing atmospheric note after the
concerts and bikini show as the summer heat dispersed
and made way for a nice and and fresh evening. The trophy
ceremony quickly followed and sent this show into the
history books with a mark of approval.
