Taking place in sunny San Diego on October 7, 2001 was the Extreme Auto Fest at the Coors Amphitheater. What a car show!! To begin with there were tons of imports, and tons of hot gals. Those fellas anxious to photograph and those ladies looking to get photographed would be paired up perfectly. Picture ops wasn’t the only smooth thing happening. The show itself went off without any problems.

Crowd make up of this event was remarkable. It was a literal smorgasbord of people. There were African Americans, Caucasians, Asians, and Hispanics, all together sharing a common pastime. That is a car show. The show itself had a smorgasbord of vehicles as well. Imports dominated the show, however SUVs, bikes, and a classic or 2 made a showing. Everything from daily drivers to the mild and wild could be found at this show.

Even a ride from Kansas made its way out here. Talent such as Konan and the Hound Foundation livened things up in preparation for the hot bikini contest. Ladies and gentlemen, this contest was the best one we had seen in a long time. The photographs within the site attempt to do this contest justice. There is no comparison to being there. The contest alone is in a class of it’s own.

Entry into the event was a breeze. Refreshments and concessions were on hand. Facilities were available as well. Security was noticeable and local police department as well. Concession stands and refreshment stands were available as well.

Impressively a few Los Angeles Area based car clubs or representatives thereof made the 100 something mile trip. Swift Car Club, Team Autobots, Raw Power, and Exclusive were noticed to have taken the trek to show. Hats off to these car clubs. Other clubs in attendance were Pacific Coast, Icer, DOS, …. As well were in attendance.

Attendance was a bit brisk. Considering the show of support from sponsors, venue, high level of organization, and standard of vehicles showing, and of course the hot bikini contest, it was perplexing to not see a bigger turnout. Our drive out there from Los Angeles was made trivial by the quality of the show. We would do it all over again. People this is one show circuit you do not want to miss!!
