When it comes to film, sequels are very challenging and dificult to make as good as the first one. Rarely one will be better than the first. For the Swift Showoff series, the sequel to its inaugural showing at the Irwindale Speedway, was indeed not only a success, but better than the first one earlier this year. Needless to say, the last show was by all means a success, just that this recent one in most mesurable ways was much improved. There were many more entrants, attendants, vendors, racers, and a live entertainment stage.

Imports again dominated the event, however, luxury SUVs made a strong showing, backed by mini trucks and bikes. The most notable of the import class vehicles was a killer full show jaguar. The most notable of the SUV class was was a 2002 Escalade.

A mega speaker cabinet stage was set up where the Dj's mixing could be heard throughout the show. A few live acts performed, and a nice wet t-shirt contest transpired as well. The racing strip attracted a large portion of the spectators as well. Again all raced for top honors. From jeeps to hot rods to imports to domestics all burned up the 1/8 mile strip. All in a safe environment and fully permitted.

Car clubs that made it out were Swift, Raucous, E-legal Imports, Connected, Raw Power, Area Six, Fatalism, NBL 2006, G-zer Tribe, Team Famous, Team Max and the one that made a dramatic showing was Unfadeable Sytles with a hard hitting array of high quality rides. Other car clubs and individuals were in attendance too. Smiles were abound everywhere one went, and certainly the winners smiled the most. It is a must that we complement the quality of the trophies. Even a runner up would be happy with his/her trophy.

Venue make up was good consisting of ample parking, ample show space, concessions, restrooms, security, and local police department. Entrance into event was a breeze. A slight line formed to enter the show as avid show supporters were hungry to see a good show. The show went off without a hitch and as mentioned before showing signs of growth.

Progress denotes promise and prospects for the Swift Showoff car show circuit look very promising.

SEE YA NEXT TIME.
