Popular car club, Swift, had their car show which was
rained on late last year, at the Irwindale Speedway
this past January. The show was held in the evening
and went off without a hitch. The type of venue used
for this car show apparently is an unprecedented first
for any car club. Despite the chilly weather that
evening, many show cars, bikes, SUVs, trucks, and
luxury vehicles made a dramatic showing. Car clubs
showing strong support included E-Legal Imports,
Connected, Raw Power, High Image, Tribe, and G-zer
tribe as a motorcycle ensemble. Attractive females
made their rounds as well. Particularly the connected
car club gals made a strong statement. The cold
certainly did not hamper the spirits of such gals or
car show
goers.
A hot ticket at this show was the drag racing strips
Duos at a time would race down the track for
top honors. Bikes, American classics, imports, and
the like took part down this quarter mile stretch of
asphalt. Burning rubber, burning others, this was
carried out in the safest of manners and without
incident. Barriers were set up to keep racers in line
with the strip in the event of an unfortunate mishap.
Fortunately, no such mishap occurred. To many racers,
the extra precautions of such an attraction remove the
illegitimacy and dangers of the streets.
Just as the diversity in vehicles was present, so was
the diversity of attendants. The masses included
Asians, Caucasians, Blacks, and Latinos. It is a
positive direction that such outcomes send the car
show scene in. Covering such diversity was the
variety of media on hand. Magazines, video
production, and web publication groups were on hand for
coverage. Notably the new and upcoming venture of
In-Focus Entertainment shooting for their next video
as well as Tailgate magazine handing out free samples
of their nicely put together
magazine, and the ever popular Dub Magazine as well.
Plenty of space was given to show grounds. Friendly
security was on hand, as well as local Police
Department. Entrance into event was a bargain at
$10. Parking was a bit gouged at $10. Entry into
event was quick and painless. When it came to the
trophies, quality was preserved, and skimpiness was
nowhere near. These are the kind of trophies even
runner-ups can be happy about. Food vending,
restrooms, and a massive crowd were not as ubiquitous,
however, it in no way harmed the total outcome of the
show: which was a thumbs up.
Swift`s reputation precedes them, and this car show`s
successful venture will certainly add to that. Kudos
to attendants that braved the cold, car show entrants
that came in early, and to the ladies that dared to
share even as the weather pinged. We look forward to
Swifts next event.
SEE YA NEXT TIME.
