Another year gone by, another outstanding Together As
One. Once again held at the Los Angeles Sports
Arena, Together as one pulled in a large crowd from
all classes, ethnicities, and styles, as well as
talent from cities across the nation and music across
all dance music genres.
With five banging areas, the Arena dance floor,
pounded the most bass, cut the air with the most
dazzling lights, and held the largest audience of the
areas. The Arena area was host to many sets including
outstanding fragments we caught of Derrick Carter,
Sandra Collins, Richard Humpty Vission, Derrick May,
Gene Farris, and Angel Alanis. Dj Reza did not play
his closing set.
Close to the Arena dance floor’s intensity was the
Trance area which hosted great sets that we caught
pieces of such as Spacemen, Joey Beltram, Thomas
Michael, Huggie, and Barry Weaver. The Spacemen
notably had a colourful impact, and a part in
involving the crowd to toss the giant balloon around.
Great set!
The Jungle/ DNB room was more banging than the
previous event held there last October. It is
estimated, there was a 30% more turnout for this area.
The time slot djs we passed by and noticed the most
electricity in the crowd was during the Junglist
Platoon’s, Dillinja’s, Lemon D’s and Slip ‘n Slide’s
sets.
The area which served as the vip area for monster
massive, served as the turntable arena this time
around hosting sets by Coolwhip, Klever, White Folks
and Swamp to name a few.
Finally for the most head banging intense bpm music
was the hardcore room. The night began with happy
core by the likes of Paulina Taylor and Eric L to name
a few. The night metamorphosed into hardcore with the
hardcore heads driven by Capsule, Delerium, Ron D
core, and Tron. Omar Santana did not perform his set.
During some of these hardcore sets, as we walked away
to other areas for coverage, we could here the heads
screaming as a mass louder than the sound system.
Parking for those that arrived early was not a
problem. A bit hefty in price, however that is a
venue issue. Entrance into event was easy and by 3
means. Two of which were for general attendance, one
for Talent and media. As always, plenty of concession
stands and drinks were readily available with not too
long of lines. In some areas, floors were littered
with trash and slippery due to spilled drinks. Clean
up staff faltered a bit. Security was friendly, and
local police department was on hand. Stringent rules
were in place by Venue. No items such as candy,
glowsticks, or backpacks were allowed. The rules
tightened even more so than the last time, as CDs were
not allowed in either to give away to the masses.
The vibe on the other hand was outstanding. More so
than the previous event! As this culture continues to
evolve, mutual respect and downright good fun
prevailed at this event. Etards were even less
present than at the previous event. It was great to
see old friends, great sets, varying styles, various
ethnicities, positive attitudes all Together As One. Smashing good way to end the year!
Jolly Good Show!
